Koultoura Coffee is a brand new cafe located in west side of Jakarta. I was surprised when I found out the location of this cafe. Usually, stand-alone cafes that are as well-designed and well-branded as this will be located in Central or South Jakarta. Sure, many cafes in the west and north part of Jakarta tries to follow what the central and south cafes do. But usually there’s always something “not-visually-right” enough. Or maybe that’s just me.
I came across this blogpost by Jiewa from INIJIE.com. I don’t know whether it’s Jiewa’s amazing photography skills that draw me in, but there’s something about this cafe that makes it feel so cosy and makes you want to stay there the whole day.
It’s clear that the owner of this cafe think about every single details that goes into this cafe. From the “re-branded” coffee machine, the orange cups, and the artworks that goes onto the walls.

I’ve made a mental note and tell my friends in Jakarta that they MUST take me to Koultoura when I’m back (which is… next month. eep!).
One thing that grinds my gears about Jakarta cafes is… their coffee usually sucks, and they don’t provide soy milk (am I the only lactose-intolerant Indonesian?). I know the chances of having soy latte in Koultoura is low, but I hope their regular latte will not disappoint. Then I wouldn’t mind having an upset stomach later on :)
See you in September, Koultoura!
