When I think about meat pies, I remember my uni days. Those were the days when I had meat pies and/or sausage rolls most days for lunch. They’re cheap, delicious with ketchup, and easy to make (just pop them in microwave or oven and you’re done).
In lieu of Australia Day on January 26th, I thought I should make a tribute to my favourite Australian snack, the mini meat pies. With these cute printable mini pies boxes that I’ve designed for you, you can turn such a simple snack into fun party favor.
If you’re not in Australia, you can always use these boxes for mini quiches or tarts!
Materials: Colour printer, Adobe Reader (Free Download), 3x A4 (8×11″ or 29.7 x 21 cm) card stock with medium thickness (around 180-230 gsm), scissors, x-acto knife, ruler, double sided tape, sticky tape, mini pies
Step 1: Download the Mini Pies Boxes template and print onto 3x A4 card stock using colour printer. Don’t forget to choose borderless A4 stock option, or fit to page (but this will make the box smaller, and might not fit the pies)
Step 2: Cut according to the boxes shapes
Step 3: Using rules & the back of x-acto knide, score the dotted lines on the template
Step 4: Fold the scored lines just like pictures 2 & 3
Step 5: Stick double sided tape on the little flap at the end of the rectangles, and put together with the other end
Step 6: Fold the little flaps on the bottom and top of the box
Step 7: Close in the bottom part of the hexagon box. You may secure the flaps using sticky tapes from inside of the box
Fill with mini pies and close the top of the mini pies box. Happy Australia Day!
